Not a professional moving company to say the least. If we could give zero stars we would. On the day of the move several men showed up in a Uhaul truck and we had to hear about their weekend with lots of wisecracks and loudness. Not professional at all. The U-haul arrived to our destination with only one driver when there was supposed to be 2, so my husband helped unload. We were missing an antique marble top that the owner (Greg) assured us we would receive via mail.

I booked Southern Cross through HireAHelper to help with a recent move. Southern Cross was not very reliable and overcharged me. My original order was for 4 helpers for up to 4 hours arriving by 8am. The evening before the move I received an email at 5:48pm that only 3 helpers would now be coming. The next morning nobody arrived by 8am and I began calling to find out if anyone was coming. Nobody answered the phone at Southern Cross or HireAHelper so I left messages.

Where do I even begin? We used Southern Cross Moving to pack and move us since we have a six week old newborn. The movers didn’t show up until 10:20am when we were specifically told they’d be there at 9:00am. We didn’t receive a courtesy call, so we had to call the company to ask where the movers were the day of our moving day. Then, our movers told us we didn’t have to stay and that most people don’t while they pack up the house so we could head to our new house, so we did.

We had them load our truck to move back to Portland Oregon from Florida. Did not pack the truck tight. Had to order 2nd trailer. They just threw everything in the trailer. Everything in the 2nd trailer was destroyed. They did not put up the bulk head to secure that load. 40 percent if everything in the first trailer was either destroyed or broken. Sent Greg the pictures we took, and also pictures the unloading company took no response. Horrible experience.

Protect Yourself and Read this Review: I hate being wronged by a business, so I have reported them to every possible agency. While I will never see a penny for the damaged they caused, I want to make sure that others avoid making the mistake of hiring this company. A Senior Consumer Service Analyst at the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services stated: "As for this business, I cannot even find their license, so there is already an investigation going into that as well." While I had a positive…

Movers arrived toward end of our expected time which was fine; however, we quickly realized they were not prepared. My father-in-law had to go to his house to get tools required to take a part some of our basic furniture and even ended up helping them to speed things along. In addition to having to help them, they ran out of room in the truck and my father-in-law had to load our outdoor table into his truck! Our quote was for 5 hours - it took them 10.

Moved from Memphis TN to Cape Coral FL. Booked this company through 3rd party, Moving Staffers. I was staying at a hotel in Ft Myers so I relied on their information. The quote was for 3 hrs, 3 movers - from 9am to Noon to unload our trailer. They arrived over an hour late and were finished by Noon. I made it a point to notate the actual amount of time on the paperwork. When I called the company, Greg advised that 9 to 12 is a "window" and they arrived within that time.

Hiring Southern Cross Moving is like getting your stoner nephew and his buddy to help pack a U-Haul. It would have been easier and faster if I had done this move myself. They have no idea what they are doing. The reason I hired them was to move two complex pieces, and they couldn't do it. One of the "movers" told me, "you are going to have to hire a professional to do that." Of course, they damaged an item that cost more than the move itself.

We used Southern twice in a year. First one they moved us out of pods and the second they brought their own truck and wrapped up our furniture. We will be moving again once our house is completed and i will definitely call them again. It's not very often you find a great price with exceptional service! The 3 gentleman we received the 2nd time were sooo awesome! Professional, courteous, and handled our furnitire with care. Did I mention our furniture is massive.

I called southern cross about a week before my lease started, praying they'd have time to squeeze in my big move from fort myers to Detroit. Greg worked endlessly to fit me in with the lowest possible cost. He and his movers were very quick with communication and easy to get a hold of. It only took them 2 days to get all the way from Florida to Michigan, and the unloading was quick and professional. I would mild highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reputable and friendly moving company.

My Movers canceled on me Thursday night late for a move that was happening the next day on Friday two hours away from where I live. Not only did Southern Cross step in and pick up the slack where the other Movers had ditched me, but last minute they did an exceptional job for my in-state, but long-distance move. Theo, the team LEAD and his crew were incredible.
