Space Moving - Moving and Storage San Diego

I hired this moving company based on their initial quote of $365 for 3 hours, with no hidden fees or additional charges. The person the phone granteed me it wont be more then 400 dollars no matter what and no tips or anything like that, However, I was shocked when they presented me with a bill for $600 after less than 4 hours of work. They also charged me for 45 minutes of driving time and became increasingly rude, demanding that I tip them.

Be Careful. Not Recommended At All Be cautious when using this company. They initially quoted me $330 ($110 per hour) for three hours (cash) for a simple, 18-minute local move within San Diego. There were no stairs on either side, and everything was already packed. However, I ended up paying $800 (cash) for a one-bedroom move. This didn’t even include all my belongings, as I chose to leave some items behind to save money—items I now have to move myself.

UPDATE 4/2024: Minus one star due to the manager Andrew deciding to offer me $ to take my review down (a year and a half later) all while not even giving me the common courtesy to speak to me directly about my experience that happened a YEAR ago. This shows that customer service is not valued at this company. **ORIGINAL POST** I want to preface this review with the fact I gave this business a week to get back to me regarding the service I received. I do not tear businesses down, and this is solely my experience.

Space and Moving Company San Diego did our move May 6-7, 2026. As a result, they dented my $2,200 refrigerator and denied responsibility (see the before move and after move pictures). They credited us $100 for the damage (what a joke) because the replacement door alone costs $1,700. Fortunately, I have extensive photos documenting before and the subsequent damage, including the damaged cellophane.

I have used them in the past, and I have referred many clients to them. The last move in August of 2024 was less than stellar. They were more than 5 hours late, and I kept having to call for ETA. I was willing to overlook this since they do a good job in the past. At the end of the move, I was told I would be charged a 20% tip. Since I paid by Zelle, I was not able to dispute the charge. This is a bad and dishonest business practice, and I will not be using or referring this business any longer.

I lost two chairs for dining room during moving to my new apartment last Saturday! The mover said they thought the chairs may be missed/stolen when they moved them in the building. However, who should take this responsibility?! Once I call the office, the manager was very rude and said the Space Moving did not have any wrong and asked the customer investigate with leasing office and call police! It was so bad experience with Space Moving!

Do NOT hire them. They broke my bicycle and luggage. The quote was not even close to what they ended up charging. When you hire them they won’t tell you about all the extra charges. They work very slow to rack up time and charge more.
