Speedway Van Lines

READ THIS REVIEW!!!!!!!! If I could give speedway a 0 I would. My items were picked up from my home on Monday the 22nd. I paid for a three day expedited shipping. The items did not arrive until 8PM on the 25th. To top it off my items were not delivered as promised in the contract. Items were damaged. Lost. I even received items from another persons move. My items were never inventoried, tagged and packaged as promised. Complete disregard for a persons personal items.

I hired Speedway for a coast-to-coast move in June 2022 because they did a great job from the East Coast to the West Coast three years. Now, three years later, what a disaster!! It took 97 days (15 weeks) for them to move the contents of a studio apartment from Northern CA to the Boston area!! During that time, we were told different stories and lies each week — resulting in so much inconvenience and stress that this review is to warn anyone considering Speedway to stay away.

Although they offered a good price, the customer service has been extremely disappointing. My TV was damaged during the move due to poor packing, and it was clearly their responsibility. Since then, I have waited weeks while being told someone would call me back and “get things straightened out,” but nothing was resolved in a timely or professional way.

In response to the owner: You did service me. Wallace is my maiden name. Worst experience EVER. They violated our contract with the moving van being late. They offered $300 but not for that…but to take down my negative review. So many priceless (including the majority of our wedding gifts - we got married a month before moving) and expensive items (tv etc) damaged.

I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT use Speedway Van lines. Speedway stored my items in August 2021. Their facility flooded in September 2021, but they did not tell me that it flooded until January 2022, about two weeks prior to my move out of state. They threw out 37 of my boxes and nine pieces of furniture. They continued to charge me storage on my belongings they threw out!

Beware!!!!!! This is one of my first times writing a review, but I wanted to share my experience to hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else. For context, the only two people we spoke to along this long process were Martin and Diego. My husband and I have moved cross country many times for my career, and used various moving companies. Some have had a few minor hiccups, but never anything close to what we experienced with Speedway Van Lines.

After a positive experience i recommended this company with an opposite turnout. After a large storm damaged their warehouse, most of the boxes containing clothes and supplies were molding upon receipt three months after the incident. In addition antique furniture, bedding, and appliances were also water damaged. There was no contact between Speedway indicating there was any problem until delivery date was set. This was unacceptable.

The Google reviews should add ‘no star’ as an option since that is the rating the Speedway Van Lines deserves. I hired the company to move and store my property and as you can see from the only photos, they were delivered damaged beyond repair. Speedway made sure the balance was paid in advance in CASH since that would not provide me any recourse against them. For the damages, they offered me $210. The actual value of destroyed furniture was excess of $6000.
