We reserved online and asked for hours of operation and showed up well between hours of operation. No one was inside the store called and a lady came out from another door. “She said I am not working.” I said this is hours of operation. She snarkingly replied saying I am not working. I said you are there can you please just give me the access code. She said can’t help you. Worst customer service I have ever experienced
We are very concerned about this situation. This experience is unacceptable. Please contact our team at [email removed] with all possible details so we can resolve this.
Attempted to rent online and ran into repeated website errors (“Error retrieving fees”) across 3 different cards and 2 devices. Since the issue was clearly on their end, I called to complete the rental. At the very end of the call, the agent mentioned a $29 “one-time admin fee” that does not appear online. I explained multiple times that I had no issue with a fee if it were disclosed, but I shouldn’t be charged something I would not have paid had the website worked.

Excellent experience with StorTropolis Self Storage in Shawnee. The facility was always clean, secure, and easy to access. The rental process was straightforward, and the staff was professional and helpful throughout my stay. A special thank you to Scott, who made the move-out process quick and hassle-free. He took care of everything, answered my questions, and ensured the account was closed properly. Customer service like that is hard to find.
StorTropolis Shawnee is an excellent facility and should be your #1 choice for storage needs. Located across the street from QT at the intersection of Woodland and Shawnee Mission Pkwy (SE Corner), Stortropolis has a fenced, meticulously maintained property with a good mix of spaces available, from the 10x40x16 (size that I rent) to smaller indoor units. It has 2 gates for ingress, egress with access between 6am-10pm. some units feature 24-hour accessibility, lighting, and electricity free of charge.

Premises are clean, never had issues with that. Not happy with not being able to throw away trash. We were able to throw away trash when I was first a tenant - and because one person doesn’t follow rules, the rest of us had to suffer. AND we were not informed of the changes. Make restrictions for the use of trash (has to be approved, only under a certain size, boxes have to be cut down, etc) but don’t shut it completely out. It’s a storage facility - people are going to need to throw away trash!

I’m literally here every day (loading my car for my job), and it is so easily accessed and clean. Scott (manager) can always be counted on to stop by the unit to say hello, or offer a hand if I need it. I love the ability to pull into the temp controlled garage to load/unload in all seasons. And bonus- bathroom is always clean👍🏻 …
