In their own words
Firstly, beware the artificial rating of this company. I owned an SEO company for 10 years and NO COMPANY (not google, not amazon, not eBay, etc) has this kind of rating profile with 95% 5-star and a few ratings spread out between the rest. That SCREAMS fake ratings. Now to our rating. My girlfriend used these guys to move in with me from Gainesville to Jax today. Overall the movers did a pretty good job. Had it not been for these guys - the actual workers - would have given them 1 star.
This company is awful! The movers are not professional or organized. The broke/damaged several items leaving thousands of dollars in damage. The move was in August and their insurance company CSI is worse than them. They reimburse only .60 per pound of the items damaged. They offered $300 as a full settlement for more than a few thousand dollars in damage. However it’s nearly 3 1/2 months later and we still haven’t been paid..
Kathleen, I am responding to this immediately because I am absolutely sure you have the wrong company. There are many companies with the name Sunbelt. Also sometimes after a move people just don’t remember the name of the company and get confused with other local moving company names.
The movers themselves were fine, and while a few items were lost — a TV leg and a mattress frame leg — those are easily replaced. My real frustration was with how this company nickel-and-dimed me at every turn. I signed the contract and paid my installment the same day, yet on delivery day they sprung an additional $600 in fees with no prior warning. To make matters worse, they repeatedly made me re-sign a contract they changed at will.
Sir, this does not sound anything like our company and how we do business. There is a company Called Sunbelt Movers and we keep getting phone calls from customers who are waiting for their shipment.
Not so professional and charge different rate (175$/h to move a piano locally). And the owner is not patient and his staffs ask for tips. Won't use it again
This company is careless and deceitful Showed no regards for my antique china and the owner was very rude avoid at all costs !!!
Rick, we are not perfect, as no one is. However, having said that, we haven’t had any issues such as what you described. Furthermore, you are not even showing up in our database of customers that we have moved. It’s very possible that you confused us with another company when leaving the review.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
These guys were great. Marty communicated with me directly and coordinated our time (with just a few days notice since we had short notice on our closing-- they were busy Saturday but were able to take care of us on Sunday morning). He was friendly and good about being in touch during a busy time for the business, including by text. On the day of the move the truck was on time. DC, Phil, and DJ were also really friendly and were very efficient at the same time.
We have used SunBelt Moving three times. Three times! That's how much we trust them with our personal belongings. The employees are professional, efficient and courteous. Due to an unexpected personal injury, our last move required that they 'pack up / box up' our clothing, dishes, decorative items, framed prints, etc. The gentlemen were organized and pleasant with which to work. When we arrived at our new residence, they actually blew my mind as the remembered which items; bedroom sets; etc., went to which room.
Update: We moved our daughter down from Virginia a week after our recent move with Sunbelt. I had mentioned to Marty that I was going to move her and he told me he had a client near her that needed moved up from Gainesville. So Marty was able to coordinate picking up my daughter's belongings on their return trip to Gainesville, which worked perfectly for us. I am so happy I mentioned it to Marty. Again, I can't say enough about Marty and his team.
Thanks for the nice reply. Always a pleasure to work with people who are organized…
We are NOT fans of the "moving" thing! We had just completed our own unexpected, tiring, and extremely difficult "self-moving" adventure two months prior to being put in touch with Marty and the crew at SunBelt Moving, Gainesville. My elderly mother was an independently living and happy resident of The Village (North Florida Retirement Village), of Gainesville, FL.
