Sunrise Moving and Packing

We hired 3 men to move us 40 minutes away. Our quote was for 5 hours and $1400. I knew when they showed up and took 25 minutes to rearrange the stuff already in their truck we were in trouble. 1 guy was an hour late. They were very careless and reckless with handling our belongings. Many items were tripped over, dropped, broken. My desk chair and adjustable bed frame were knocked off the lift on the back of the truck and hit the ground hard. Not an apology or even notice of their sloppy work.

This is the first review I have ever written in my life, and I’m writing it because I don’t want other customers to fall into the same trap. The sales representative, Dwayne, gave us a clear price range and explicitly stated that the final cost would not exceed the higher end of that range unless we increased the inventory. We did not add or change anything from what was originally discussed. Despite sticking exactly to what was declared, the final bill was almost double the highest end of the quoted range.

Thank you for your response and attempt to make you company look better: I totally understand that. Your loaders were told the priorities, which were appliances and even down to which pieces of furniture were most important. Your boys were too lazy to load the appliances. They were told 2 containers were already full because day 1 your boys loaded boxes rather than the priorities which were appliance and specific pieces of furniture.

The experience from Sunrise Moving and Packing is one that I want to warn others for. First I was told that my quote was wrong when I was specifically asked "what are the largest items involved with the move". After providing those items on the day of the move I was told by the workers that there where more items than the large items listed... The question was not what is everything I need moved, it was "largest items". I have used moving companies many times and never had to supply every line item I need moved.

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Sunrise Moving during our move to a new house. The entire process was marred by dishonest pricing, poor communication, and mishandling of our belongings. Despite having an in-home estimate done months in advance, the company failed to provide accurate pricing. On the day of the move, after half of our house was packed into the truck, they determined that a second truck was needed. This was not our fault, yet we were forced to pay double for their mistake.

We used this company to move from Godfrey to Alton & they were absolutely amazing. Went above & beyond. Our move to Alabama was a complete nightmare!!! Between the 3 of us we have at least 50 moves under our belts & we all agree it was the absolute worst. Heavy stuff loaded first, well not this one. They started with the items in the garage even picking up items not packed like work boots, lunch box, items that we were getting rid of while breaking an irreplaceable vase and queen size adjustable bed in the back of…

If you want to get rob use this company. Ethan is one of the most dishonest person alive. They move me yesterday, promised to send 3 movers only sent 2 so they could jack up the hours of service. I only moved 2 bedrooms sets, a 6 chair dining room table, 20 boxes, 2 TV from 2 sofa tables. And it took 5 hours to over 5 hours to load their truck. Not to mention they were late coming to my storage. When I was booking their services they were always available but once my move day they were hard to contact.

I used Sunshine movers the first time just to load my storage a few months ago. Yesterday I had them to move my furniture to my apartment. You need to know the only thing they put up was my bed. All these years I had movers put up everything. Sunshine would not take the TV's out the box, don't remove plastic off the furniture, will not hook up your washer and dryer, they would not put the legs on my futon.
