Two Men and a Truck Moving and Storage

Do not use this company at all, especially if you are LGBTQ in St. Louis. We were told we would be contacted a half an hour prior to the arrival of our movers. We waited until past 2:30, half of our estimated window of 1-5pm, to reach out to the office. They then told us the movers were on the way, and it would be a half an hour, calling us back less than a minute to tell me they would be 30-45 minutes as they were stopping for a bite to eat, which was totally fine, and that they would contact me when the truck…

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the unprofessional behavior of your employees during a recent visit to my neighborhood. The crew arrived and parked in front of the driveway without asking for permission, blocking access. When I politely asked them to move their vehicle because we needed to keep the driveway clear in case of an emergency, because my wife has cancer, I was met with rudeness and disrespect.

They were punctual, friendly, and hardworking. However, when I went back to my old house to get the things that I didn't have moved, I discovered so many things they were supposed to take and didn't. They were all things we discussed. For example, the a large sentimental mirror hanging on my wall,two other mirrors,6 large pictures and paintings, all my yard tools, a large wooden toolbox, and many more items in the garage.

Avoid at all costs! The service we received with Two Men and a Truck was unacceptable, starting with significant scheduling failures. On Tuesday, Jared forgot about safety training, causing the team to arrive two hours late without any notice. Furthermore, the main mover estimated the job would take two to three hours, but it ultimately took five hours. On the receiving end of the move, the main mover arrived late after claiming the additional movers he went to pick up in Sarasota were not there.

Regrettably, my recent move was plagued by numerous issues. Having moved multiple times in the past, I had never encountered such a disappointing and costly experience. When I initially contacted the moving company, I provided a detailed inventory of the items to be moved, aiming for an accurate estimate of the time required—anticipated at 4-5 hours. Given the short distance of my move (less than half a mile), travel time wasn't expected to be a significant factor.

Had them come out for an estimate. They quoted me a price for our agreed upon moving large items only. They stated it would be 100% of a truck and 4 men. They recommended a second truck in case of some fill over. I told them I would take care of the possible 20% fill over. Moving day, they brought a 26' truck and filled it within a couple hours. I had three pickup trucks ready for the overfill. The amount of large items left in the house was more than we planned based on what they told us.

My movers took a very long time between unloads after we arrived at my new apartment. Loading the truck at my old apartment took 2.5 hours, but we figured this was understandable since there was only one, small elevator in the building on the opposite side of my apartment. However, unloading took about the same amount of time even though the walk was significantly shortened, their truck was parked right outside the elevator, and my apartment was only two doors down from the elevator itself.

I’ve used Two Men and a Truck before and had a great experience. This time was very different. While the three men who moved my truck were nice guys, they were also incredibly loud, focused more on chatting and goofing around and damaged some of my items. At 7:45am, I shouldn’t have to tell a professional to not jog in place when on a second floor of an apartment building.
