TopDogg Moving - Local Moving Company / Long Distance Moving Company

Let me start by saying it’s nearing moving season. These 5 star post are family or friends. They didn’t think of checking the weather on some of these. We thought we’d “save” money. If you have furniture that means a lot to you. Understand, it doesn’t mean anything to them. It started w them waking up. If you’re in Louisville, they want you to pay them,,, to drive to the “starting” place. They’re coming from Bullitt County. So,,, 45 minutes,,, before you lay eyes on their truck. You just paid $45 minutes…. WT?!??

I called TopDogg Moving since my family was moving from a condo to a house in Louisville. John answered the phone. He assured me that we would be the second job for the day. He also texted that the movers would arrive between 1 pm and 3 pm. Before 1 pm, I went to the condo to wait. 3 pm passes by and there is no call nor the movers. I called John, and he informed me that the movers needed to eat and would arrive by 4 pm. This times passes, and there is no call about the delay again.

John from TopDogg Moving contacted me after I submitted my information to a third-party moving quote website. He told me, "Normally, we do a $100 deposit if a customer has Zelle or Apple pay....but if they don't we just won't worry about a deposit." (I thought was odd because how would be day/time be reserved). Despite no contract being provided stating, "all deposits are non-refundable" I sent the $100 IN GOOD FAITH to reserve the spot. Later, I decided to cancel and gave nearly two weeks’ notice.

Very disappointed with the service provided. The initial move-out process went fairly well, but the delivery and unloading experience was extremely frustrating. The crew didn’t arrive until 10:30 PM and wasn’t finished unloading until 2:30 AM. Not only did the job take much longer than expected, but they also took multiple breaks and worked at a very slow pace. In addition, they did not reassemble everything as expected, leaving me with additional work after the move.

We had the worst experience with this company. We only had a few items to move, and it was a job that could have easily been completed in about three hours. Instead, they dragged it out to nearly six hours, making it seem like they were intentionally wasting time to increase the cost. They originally estimated the move at around $500, but in the end they charged us almost $1,000.

Do not use this moving company. They were dishonest and very unprofessional. I was told the price would be $400 for 3 hours, but they worked extremely slowly and took much longer than necessary. The pickup and drop-off locations were only about 10 minutes apart, yet it took them forever to load and unload my belongings. It felt like they were moving slowly on purpose just to charge more. In the end, I was charged $740 instead of the agreed price.

Don’t worry about using this company. John one of the owners scheduled an appointment at 5pm today with me and never showed. I called him to see if he was still coming because it was after 5. His response, “I can be there in 27 minutes”. No apology or nothing. I’ll take my business elsewhere. I knew they were too goo to be true. I know things happen. However, if a company can’t take the time on the initial appointment to communicate with you, that is a sign.

Nobody even answers the phone. Just some woman's name on VM message. Left a voicemail, even questioning if I had the correct number. (Googled them and just hit the "call now" button. I DIDN'T actually dial a phone number so it wasn't on my end) Even asked that the woman call me back IF I didn't have the correct phone number. Still nothing. NO idea what is going on but that's ALL I got from their ad on Google.
