Two Men and a Truck Moving and Storage

Date of Service: 10/01/24 Deposit Paid: $250 Service Payment: $1,000 Nature of the Dispute: The business, Two Men Moving Company from Doral, was hired to provide moving services, which included packing, moving, and unpacking. The service was scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM, and they were instructed to move items into an identical unit and set them up exactly as they were in the original location. However, when three movers arrived, two left immediately. This forced us to hire additional movers to complete the job.

Please do not use services from this company! I had a scheduled move with this company and the only positive was that the team showed up on time. However, upon arrival, the movers claimed that they were not properly informed about the details of the move and when they learned that the items that needed to be moved were approximately three times the amount of what they had been told, they became frustrated. Two of the employees to become involved in an extremely unprofessional yelling match with each other.

First off I was quoted a price of $1100. I told them that I just needed someone, because I'm pregnant, to pack my stuff and load it onto my uhaul for me (to save myself money),but if they could pack and load and transport all my stuff for under $1700, then we had a deal. The company agreed. Movers were 45 minutes late arriving. They didn't have tools to disassemble anything. I had provided more than half of the boxes, bubble wrap, and tape, yet they charged me $8.50 per box.

I deeply regret choosing Two Men and a Truck for my move. This has been one of the most frustrating moving experiences I’ve ever had. The crew arrived completely unprepared. I paid for moving materials, including mattress covers, TV boxes, art boxes, and other packing supplies, yet they showed up with none of them. I was charged for items that were never provided. Even worse, I repeatedly informed Client Services—at least five separate times—that my condo required plastic carpet protection for the move.

The quote/estimate they provide is NOT accurate I got charged double what I was quoted for it went from 1600 to 3000 for a move that was 15 mins away from my old place. They also stole or lost one of my items (a table) and completely damaged another storage cabinet. I did all I could to dispute the charge they offered me 400$ in settlement. I am so unhappy. My move only took 6 hours and they charged me for 10.5 because they said it includes travel time when the facility is only 25 minutes from my home.

This has been a terrible experience. They broke 3 pieces of very expensive furniture. They were careless, slow and the company has become unresponsive in making us even for the furniture they destroyed. Specifically, they lay marble table top (dining table for 8) carelessly against a secretary desk without any guard...it slipped and broke the desk, and the table also broke when it fell on the floor...the replace value for such a table is close to $10K.

The customer service at this location is horrible. I used them for a move from Miami to Chicago and wish I’d gone with another company. I paid for two TV moving boxes and the movers only came with one. They assured me that they would put the other TV in a box before starting the drive to Chicago but of course once the TV got to Chicago it was still wrapped in the moving blanket they had put on it in my Miami apartment.

We hired Two Men and a Truck last minute after our original movers canceled, and while we were grateful they could accommodate us on short notice, everything went downhill from there. Our very expensive white couch ended up covered in black handprints and required professional cleaning. They also broke our TV console and a piece of furniture, and at the time of signing the final paperwork, they assured us they would refund the full amount for the damage.
