Two Men and a Truck Moving

We were quoted 200-600 on moving a fridge and three boxed, and were charged 819. They double charged us the removal fee, which if we hadn't have caught, I doubt we would have been refunded. They didn't take the door off, dinged up the walls and the door, and shredded the drywall on the corner of the stairwell. Plus they forgot their tools at our previous apartment. The movers themselves were very pleasant people, but the customer service representative was dismissive and rude.

We got a quote to move 2 mattresses, a sectional couch which we took apart, about 10 totes and couple of bed frames out of our 3rd floor apartment to our new place 10 minutes away. Quote was $250ish-$550ish. The 2 movers arrived 20 minutes late but we were charged from the time they left the office. They did a great job of protecting the doors, walls, sectional and mattresses. One of the bed frames was easy to take apart, the other was a pain and a manager came by to check out how things were going.

The movers were friendly and at first I was very happy with the service. Unfortunately, after going back to my old unit to clean before my lease ends, I was very dissatisfied. The more I walked around the old apartment, the more upset I got. All but one room had the lights on, the front window was wide open, I had offered drinks to the crew but rather than throw away the containers they left the trash throughout the rooms, the kitchen counters are completely full of items that didn’t get moved to the new location…

Be careful using two men and a truck. While the actual moving process is great getting there is very shady and vague and will cost you thousands more. I called to do a. Rate move, was initially quoted 3.8K (which is what is was going to cost me to rent uhual, gas, hotels) so I thought great same price i dont have to drive a big truck now. Week before the move they called again to do a walk through, now the quote went up to 5.7 k.

This is my 4th time using Two Men and a Truck and it will be my last. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I had issues with the Two Men in Chicago and here in SLC so maybe it is a corporation wide issue. The communication is awful within the company. I called to schedule my service and informed them that I have a baby grand piano and specifically asked if they have experience moving one, to which they replied “yes”.

We called and asked if they would be able to move a refrigerator and freezer for us and they indicated that they could do that. When they called to say they were on the way they said they were 10 minutes away. It actually ended up being 30 minutes which isn’t a huge deal but when it came to charging us they said they would take off 20 minutes because they stopped for gas. No kidding.

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a moving. I called about 2 weeks in advance to schedule a move for my mother. I was given a quote. After I made the initial deposit, I was given a window between 1:00 and 4:00 for the movers to come in the afternoon. At that time the person I talked to on the phone told me that the average time they would likely be there would be about 1:30 and 2:00. The day of the move they called and confirmed but at 1:30 they didn't show up.

This company seemed great until you start looking at things closely. The moving team dropped shelving and destroyed it, yet they didn't say a word. I discovered it later when putting my bookshelf back together. They took out a large piece of my doorway jam and wasn't going to say anything until I called them out on it.
