We hired Undergrads for our recent move, and unfortunately, it was a very frustrating experience from start to finish. To be fair, we understood going in that this is a service staffed by undergraduates and not seasoned professional movers. We were completely okay with that. What we didn’t expect was the level of disorganization, lack of communication, and absence of basic moving skills. We scheduled our move for 3 PM and planned everything around that time — including truck rental and travel logistics.

They broke several of my items including my 75 inch 4k tv, my dining table and an end table. For reference I worked as a mover full time for 2 years and climbed to Assistant Director for a moving company about a decade ago. The movers seemed extremely inexperienced, one guy even admitted it was his first day. I had to show them have to move several pieces to get them through the doorway properly.

I was quoted 2 to 3 hours, however it ended up being 5 hours - and so rushed they had to dump everything in living room in order not to exceed that time. They refused to move fridge or dryer (not kidding). Had to be told to use dollies instead of 1 or 2 boxes at a time. One guy worked hard but the other was putting out minimal effort appeared to be stalling for time
Cracked my 55 inch flat screen. 5 months have passed and still no response from their claims department. Please do better.
Used Undergrads Moving back in Sept 2025 and had the best mover experience with great workers. Always recommended Undergrads Moving since then and was a nonbrainer to use them again yesterday (4/22/26). I don't know what went wrong since then. Had the worse experience I ever had with a moving coming yesterday. Last time I didn't have to hover over the movers to make sure they were doing everything alright, like not scratching items, running the clock with slow work, using a frog dolly to move one heavy tote…

Loading a truck, they showed up early, I agreed to load the truck, trusted about they're know how, I was still getting things wrapped with my friend having some drinks, we've kept moving along, towards the end, we did not see them for a few minutes, so we got to the truck, they were chatting on the phone, so I said are we done, they said yes, they asked for 180 even though the job was done in an hour, I've honored the 2 hrs. because of the contract.
They broke my tv and said to 'go ahead and email them and they'll take care of it but it's been 9 months' and I've emailed them a few times and they said their claims department would follow up but they haven't/won't reply. I don't think their employees even went to college at all.

They complained about the heat, only moved less than half of what they were hired for, then I was charged extra because they say it conditions were too hot for them to work in. I ended up paying over $500 for 2 hours and had to finish moving it myself

I asked for a lot of different quotes online but Undergrads was the only one to promptly engage in a call, they had read my request carefully and the phone concierge was over the top nice and efficient. He was concerned they wouldn’t have anyone available because it was short notice but Gage and Dyer were available and we scheduled right away, we received text confirmation, and Undergrads called us in advance to let us know they were on the way. They arrived 20 min prior and kindly waited for us.
We recently moved with the help of Undergrads Moving and they were amazing - the best moving experience I've had. Truly, the nicest guys who were really careful with our things and had great attitudes even though it rained all day. The entire process of booking and moving and following up was very clear and easy (thanks, Amber!). Once the movers realized they would need a second trip for our home, communication was quick, clear and changes were explained well.

We had a piece of furniture that needed to be moved from the first floor to the second floor. We live in an old house with a tight staircase. We called a few moving companies and the quotes were ridiculously high (basically charging what it would cost to move an entire home). Called this company on a whim and they were able to schedule the move same-day at a very reasonable price! The guys (Eric and Haden) were on time, professional, and got it done in about 10 minutes.
RECOMMEND, RECOMMEND, RECOMMEND! Cannot express this enough! By far the best moving service I have ever experienced and I'm a professional mover, this is lucky number 30! Too bad they won't be on the other end of this move to New Mexico. They have many locations - Raleigh was mine, so check it out! I requested a quote online and I was contacted immediately to review my needs. I first received a text asking if it was a good time to talk.
