In their own words
On September 15, 2024, I moved using Virk Movers and was originally quoted $886 for the move. I was informed that each packing box would cost $3, while tape would be my own they used there own tape without asking and charged so much. However, after the move, I was charged an additional $108 for packing materials, despite offering my own tape, but still charged me for Tape.
As the quote was provided on hourly basis according to the amount of stuff mentioned from your side Even we recommend the job requires at-least 3 to 4 guys but you still wanna continue to work with 2 guys by saying they are doing it pretty fast and we don’t need more guys.
I’m thankful that my belongings were moved (edit: after the move I went back to my pickup address and noticed they left belongings which should have been moved) but the service with this moving company was quite unsatisfactory. There are several issues I need to highlight. Firstly, during the booking process, they failed to gather enough information about my move. This led to my quote being incorrectly priced, and I was shocked by the updated price on the day of the move.

Nice try Virk Movers! Paul is from your company and who my mother in law was dealing with. It absolutely is your company. But it is a nice try! It's your moving company that showed up and we have it on camera. Same people that everyone else is talking about in their review too. Nice try! Pictures are below of the truck and one of the movers. I initially put a review on a week ago after my in-laws moved from Edmonton but we removed it based on the email in the screenshot.
**WARNING: Avoid this company at all costs!** I trusted the positive reviews, and it turned out to be the worst decision EVER. Don’t be fooled! Some companies clearly manipulate their reviews, and this is one of them. My 87-year-old mother and her husband hired them, thinking everything was settled after they came out to assess the move. But when they arrived at the new location, they suddenly demanded an extra $400 on the spot! They REFUSED to unload anything until it was paid and a signature was forced from us.
Recently used these guys and it was the most awful experience. Not only did they take an extended period of time to get a 2 bedroom apartment moved, they also damaged the walls of our rental unit along with some of our items. When I asked to be careful I was met with passive aggressive attitude and disrespect. It was very frustrating and stressful as well as very unprofessional as one of the men kept hitting on me and insisting on having my instagram and when denied it he took my name off the invoice and added me…

Movers attended late, took well over agreed work time, damaged items, packed and delivered boxes marked glass & fragile upside down, boxes clearly marked with fragile not treated well, multiple other boxes delivered upside down, boxes clearly marked for what area to be placed and not, refused to move items and did not take items advised to, made us late for a scheduled appointment at move in location, refused to release items without paying $400 for ‘overtime’ hours and refused to issue a receipt!
My experience with the crew they sent, was always on the phone and wasn’t very productive. One thing I felt bad about was their boss didn’t provide water so I went and bought it for them. Okay bad things once I had a chance to go through things I had a lot of broken items plus I had to help them unload the truck because they couldn’t finish the job.
They did okay, like they wore socks and only cause a couple of dings, but they wanted $400 min for 3 hours and got paid hourly. The move took 2 hours and they pestered my dad for a tip until he gave them one although they each got paid $45 an hour and were paid for an hour they didn’t do. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend them based on that.

We had an excellent experience with this moving company from start to finish. The team—Abhishek, Navi, and Karan—were professional, punctual, and incredibly hardworking. They handled our move from one house to another with great care, making sure all our furniture and belongings were well protected and safely transported. Moving can be stressful, but Abhishek, Navi, and Karan made it smooth and hassle-free.
This is my second time hiring this team help me with a move, this time to help my mother in law. VIRK movers were very efficient, reasonably priced. Whatever worries I had about fragile equipment they gave me extra reassurance and guarantee of safety. Made it worry free and stress free. Happy and his team Jagman and Jaspreet were very upfront and communicative during the process so my mother in law and I didn’t feel like we were out of the loop.
Navnoor and Babbu were excellent to work with. They showed up on time, took care to wrap our breakable items, and were very polite. The move was seemless and street free. Very fair pricing and very pleased with the service. This company also moved my mother in law from Wetaskiwin to Edmonton a month ago and that move was excellent as well.
I can’t say enough good things about Jashan and Happy from Virk Movers. These two absolutely saved the day during my recent move, and I’m so grateful for their hard work and attention to detail. From the moment they walked in, it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. Jashan and Happy were friendly, professional, and super efficient. They took the time to assess everything and came up with a game plan to make sure nothing got damaged. Let me tell you, these two are *perfectionists*.
