In their own words
Totally inconsiderate of their customers time. When I scheduled my move with them I was given a time range of 1-3 PM for them to show up on my moving date. The DAY BEFORE my move when they called to confirm my time they tried to pressure me into changing the time to 9 AM.-FOUR HOURS earlier than originally planned and then told me they wouldn’t be sure of that time until the MORNING OF MY MOVE!
The crew took longer than I expected them to given that there were three of them. They also left some items partly assembled in a dangerous state (central bed slat was hidden between under-bed drawers and I found it two weeks later - fortunately before any permanent damage to the bed, bed slats were not secured correctly, side tables not secured to frame, bunk bed ladder not fastened to bunk - again found before kids were injured).
Note: will update review if issue is tended to by management. Today, against direction from the property management company and the client, the movers left the doors open to the loading dock/garbage room and it wafted garbage smell all through the entire first floor of the building. When asked to close it, one of the movers (Lawrence) got highly aggressive and unprofessional, yelling, including personal insults about my appearance and yelling so loudly it could be heard over 50 feet away.
I felt I got nickel and dimed. Apparently the clock started a half hour before the scheduled time and ended a half hour after the guys finished, so that right there added an hour to the bill; it would have been nice to have been told this during scheduling. I also wasn't told I would have to pay for the plastic wrap which was itemized on the bill.
Robert, We apologize if you felt Nickel and dimed. We have refunded you an hour at $95.00 and the shrink wrap charge to protect your furniture during the move. We are located in Portland and try to be upfront about travel time to Washington, and or the charge for shrink wrap.
I wouldn't use them. Was driving to the right of them the other day when their moving truck wildly and illegally drove across two lanes (both with solid white lines) on the Nyberg south exit of the 5. Driver knew exactly what he was doing because the passenger held his hand out the window for people behind to stop. Had I not been paying attention I would have been crushed by the truck.
I used a different company a few years back. They were great but we're not available for the date I needed last month. I called serveral places after. Willamette valley was one of them. The employee I spoke to over the phone was down right rude. I can't comment on the movers themselves. Customer service starts from the office and branches out. I ended up going with someone else just because of the attitude.
These guys are liars. Showed up an hour before we were ready. Claimed it would take 45 minutes per room (we made it easy so it would take about 15 per room as requested) these guys obviously just wanted to go home. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else cuz there’s a bunch of pansy’s working here.
Liars, & Pansy's showed up and hour early. Definitely not our guys.
Loud and obnoxious!!! Zero regard for the people living in the building that they are moving in. Slamming empty handcarts down metal stairs while people who live below have their houses shake below. Pictures have fallen off the walls and broke.
What satisfied customers point to
The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Great experience with WVMoving moving items from Oregon to Washington. On time, professional hard-working team, fair price. Efficient, friendly. Very careful with items, everything was protected, stored, moved, and loaded out safely and carefully. Very pleased and would recommend.

This is my second time using WVM and I am even more impressed with their professionalism, timely response, customer service, and motivation. I was moving across the country with my boyfriend and we had furniture in a storage unit and a family garage in Sandy that we were moving to SW Portland. From the first phone call to Jacob to the moving crew that showed up we felt taken care of. Jacob was the dispatcher and he coordinated the crew and the pickups, without a hitch.

Willamette Valley Moving Inc was just downright excellent as a moving company. I cannot stress enough how accommodating and professional they were. We moved from Close in SE Portland to just six miles away. We got pricing from four different companies prior to deciding on Willamette Valley. Harlan from WV came with a pen and paper; walked around the house, and said, “Sure, I can do this in about 8 hours, maybe less”. Here’s your price. And that price also included the detached garage.

I used Willamette Valley Moving last week for a move from PDX to Bend. I was moving from an apartment in a high rise to a small cottage home in Old Downtown Bend. I'm a single guy, so I don't have a lot of stuff, but I had to move mid-week so tough to line up help, especially to move 3 hours away. Up stepped WVM. I called for an estimate, it was within my budget so I said "Let's Do This!". I got a confirmation call the day before my move. On moving day, my movers showed up EXACTLY on time.
