DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We scheduled a July 1, 2019 move from NJ to Columbus, Ohio and confirmed with Simonik a week prior to the move. On July 1st we waited and waited, but Simonik did not show up. My husband called and got a run-around story from our salesman, Bobby. Shortly after noon, four movers showed up. Two were very young and we believe they hired them right off the street that day. They clearly had no experience and were ill-equipped to move us. They nearly dropped or actually dropped many items.
I need to preface this review by mentioning that the staff who work here are NOT the problem. Everyone I have dealt with has been very kind. And if I were reviewing their moving service, I'd have no complaints, as I've used them multiple times and had absolutely no issues. THIS review, however, is to warn everyone: DO NOT USE THEM FOR STORAGE. This company bought out Simonik, and their management has decided to use very predatory pricing.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with our storage services. We understand your frustration with the pricing and fees. Our storage rates changed after a full audit of services we provide. With any moving company fees apply for pick up or delivery.
I used Simonik to move my things and store them for two weeks while I was between apartments. My chief complaint was their admin. I was given an estimate of ~$2600 which came out to ~$1000 to move me out and in each, and ~$600 to store my items. I moved out mid-September and moved in on October 1st. When they called me to confirm my move-in date, after my items were already in storage, I was informed that my total was now $3200, a difference of $600 which I was told was because new fees came with the new month and…
Absolutely horrible moving company! The movers forgot their tools so they asked to borrow mine. Vaping during the job and they argued with each other the entire move.. I could look past these issues but they broke our dining room table.. Even after breaking this they charged us an additional hour over the original estimate they gave us. We filed a claim for the broken dining room table which was denied because they felt the table broke due to a poor build quality..
My mom just had $2700 stolen from her purse from the men packing up her house and Simonik will not claim responsibility for it or try to get the money back from the men that stole it. They are a shady business and I would definitely recommend using another moving & storing company.
We understand your being upset but your comments are unsubstantiated at this point in time. We advised you to contact the local police and file a report. We will do all we can to cooperate. All of our employees are background checked and drug tested.
I was very unhappy with Simonik Moving. I just used them for a cross country move. Everyone on the sales end was very polite and helpful but my furniture took a beating. Four out of five pieces of my bedroom set arrived damaged. Many other pieces were severely damaged too. A leather chair had so much stuff piled on it that it broke. Boxes that I paid Simonik to pack arrived crushed and open. Much of the furniture smelled like diesel fuel. The unloading crew was even worse.
Simonik has deceptive & fraudulent practices and did not keep their word on multiple counts. Their "guaranteed rate" does not mean anything. Their weighing was dishonest. Buyer beware! Their sales rep Matt seemed courteous & professional, gave us a "guaranteed not to exceed" estimate of around $12k. I also purchased a "guaranteed rate reduction" just in case our weight would come UNDER their estimate.

WARNING!! Do NOT use this company. They are no longer owed by the Simonek Family and destroyed my mom's house and broke her refrigerator during her move. No one ever followed up with me on my claims. Please check out the photos, you can see the movers turned the fridge on it's side, which you are NEVER supposed to do. They left door frames and walls damaged and scuffed. My mom is out $400 in repair fees and $1,300 for a refrigerator. I won't mention the furniture or other items that were broken during the move.

Simonik Moving and Storage company did a long distance move for me in the summer of 2018 across states, and they did an excellent job! Highly recommended. Before going with this company, I tried to call a few others. With the other companies (highly rated ones), I was kept on hold, transferred multiple times, or did not a call back at all or for days after they took my information.
I hired Simonek for my local move two weeks ago and my family and I could not be happier. Matt Simonek was very helpful, honest and straightforward on the phone. I had spoken to many movers before I decided on Simonek, and I always felt as though there was something they weren't telling me; there always seemed to be a reluctance on their part to give me any solid information. Not so with Matt Simonek. He answered every question honestly and definitively.
We used Simonik Moving & Storage for the second time in 4 years, this time moving from an apartment to a house. We worked with Brian, and booking the service was so easy. He was responsive and answered my many questions and alleviated any concerns I had about the day. The dispatcher called the day before the move to confirm, too. It could have been a very a stressful day was made 1,000 times easier because of how great the movers were. They were punctual, courteous, and very careful with our belongings.
We recently moved from New Jersey to Michigan and without hesitation we would recommend the services of Simonik Moving & Storage / Allied again. We went out for quote estimates with the four major movers. Matthew Simonik came out to provide an estimate and review our belongings. Matts was very professional, courteous, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable.
