A-Plus Moving & Storage

At what cost do I post this WARNING? (read on...) Over many years we used this company multiple times: Stupid move, indeed. What has A-Plus not screwed up for us? They went to the wrong pick-up location which was about an hour away from the correct spot. They ripped the beautiful woodwork off of an expensive sofa. They scraped the walls of our brand-new home... and then later we discovered even more furniture had been broken.

WARNING SORT THE REVIEWS BY NEWEST!!! Notice whenever they get a bad review within a day or so they get about 5 random exaggerated good reviews from ppl who have made no prior reviews on anything. They make fake accounts to stay at 4.9 stars. It’s not real, they steal and damage things. I moved from a three bedroom to a three bedroom. Explained everything that I had to move including my grill and appliances which were a washer and dryer.

You’ll be better off using a different company. I was quoted that my move would take 2-3 hours (I don’t have much stuff and was living in a tiny studio), and I ended up being charged for 5 hours. I was also last minute pressured into increasing my move from 3 guys to 4 guys, which then increased the hourly rate. This was the absolute slowest move I’ve ever had.

UPDATE: Interestingly enough, three reviews were left in one hour increments after my review. All three of the reviews follow the same format and pretty much say the same thing. They also give the company 5 stars. If I were you, I would question how the company is maintaining it's perfect 5 star rating on google... This was my second time using the company. The first time was great, so I decided to use them again. That was a mistake. This time around, there were many, many issues...

I stored my belongings with this company this past summer and when they delivered my things from Boston to New York, I was missing a large, expensive, and personally significant work of art. During packing, I had told them multiple times to be extra careful with that particular one and after noticing it was missing upon delivery, I contacted them multiple times only for Mike to keep telling me that there was nothing in their storage unit and that I must have missed it.

To follow up with A-plus response to my review: Why don't you take some real efforts to find my green plant pot from your truck? Instead of hiring people to artificially make your google reviews 5x stars? ------- I will NOT use them again for sure. They did not wrap my bed frames and dragged it on the floor leaving scratches (metal frame). They left my big plant pot (it is huge and bright green color) in their moving truck.

A Plus Moving & Storage is NOT a good moving company. Take it from me, Do NOT use them. Stay away from them. 1. To begin with, they come at 9:30am and instead of the scheduled and agreed time of 8am and yet, still charged me NOT for the time they arrived at my home but for the time they left their home (8am). 2. I had ONLY 7 items (Sofa, Loveseat, 2 Tables, Bed & Mattress and Dresser). I was told it is a job that takes ONLY 3 hours.

I have now used this company three times. The first two I have no complaints hence why I kept calling them. This third time, however, I was very unhappy with their service. I Had them move One small bedroom, A few kitchen appliances, And one living room. A 700 square foot apartment 2.5 miles down the road. The first location having an elevator. I was quoted three hours at $175 an hour. The other two quotes prior to this move were all accurate amounts of time.
