Not a great experience. We hired a mover with good reviews & he sent Uptown Movers in his place without advising us. They arrived quite late with a much smaller moving van than required, as they had an accident in their larger van en route. Because of the lack of space in their vehicle, they piled heavy items on top of other pieces & caused damage.
Thanks for the review Susan. Regrettably, there seems to be a misunderstanding. We had allocated our 3-ton truck specifically for the purpose of moving the contents of your two-bedroom townhouse.
I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this company: -no site visit to confirm contents; I was merely asked to send photos of the "heavy stuff" -lost my booking (good thing I checked a few days in advance, or I'd have been sitting there Monday morning with no movers in site and a closing date for the sale of my home impending) -underestimated the job; underestimated the time/effort required -did not do a site visit to confirm contents at any time -items not crated and shrink-wrapped as discussed (although, with one…

This is the second time that I have used this company. The first time was a great experience which is why I booked them again to move a really large cabinet. Unfortunately, the second time around was really disappointing. I sent them a picture of the item prior to the move in order to get a sense of the cost. I was provided with a quote over the phone.

The movers would not let customer look in truck after telling them boxes were missing and furniture was damaged and or missing. The customer is an 80 year old widow Her claim has been ignored with no one looking into this. I WOULD NOT HIRE YOU TO HAUL TRASH. Shame on you for taking advantage of the elderly

Nice try reason my review as well. Pretty dodgy practice. Seems I’m the only one who can see it. Nice try I’ll send it from another email, and if you erase it agin I’ll report you. You aren’t allowed to get rid of reviews Use them if you want the job rushed and left unfinished. They did work hard and were friendly and efficient though. We had prepaid for 8 hours for 2 man crew through the Minsitry, had injured my back this year.
Thanks for the review Justin, Here is our point of view on the move: You called and requested a quote to move a 1 bedroom that was fairly large. We did in fact quote 8 hours @ 160/hr. (average 1 bedrooms run roughly 4 -5.5 hours.
I hate to leave a negative review but I simply can’t let what happened to me happen to someone else. First of all let me start by saying, I have never left a negative review anywhere, EVER! I had a last minute move come up and the regular places were all booked up. I contacted this moving company and spoke to Josh who said “No problem! We got you!” I was so relieved. I explained my tight timelines and my concern that I had a lot of stuff but he reassured me his crew would take of it in the timeframe I needed.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for what you went through — this is not the level of service we expect from ourselves, and we understand why you’re upset.
Not at all professional in terms of tariffs.The commitment which they gave while discussions was not followed after completing the work. The driver who came in the vehicle not followed the words of the owner. He is deciding of his own and totally unprofessional guys. The driver was totally threatening in the end during the payment.
Very disappointed in this review Vinod. The crew arrived at residence at 130PM. 3 guys in a truck at our hourly rate of 189/hr and finished at 530 PM. We needed a pickup from an estate sale on short notice at month end (August 30-31, 2024) and only Uptown was available, said they would pickup before 6pm on the Friday night (bookcases had to be picked up by noon Saturday or purchase would be forfeited). They ghosted me so my husband called -- they said they were on their way but never showed up. Saturday morning I texted and again was ghosted. Uptown movers left us high and dry after promising to do a job. Unreliable, unprofessional, and dishonest shirking.

The crew arrived promptly on moving day and were extremely professional and courteous throughout the entire process. They took great care with all of my belongings, wrapping everything carefully and ensuring that nothing was damaged in transit. They were efficient and organized, making the move go smoothly and quickly. Not only they accomadated my late request to add addtional house to be move into the new house, they also dropp of stuff that we left behinde the next day!!

After receiving 4 other quotes (some quotes were almost double), we decided to use Uptown Moving to relocate from Victoria BC to Cochrane AB, given they were able to accommodate our needs: short notice booking for move at the end of the month, packing assistance, loading and unloading and reasonable price. The team was amazing, our family appreciated all of the help, and we would definitely recommend them.

Wow!! Absolutely impressive! Kenny,Aaron and Aidan were polite fast careful helpful funny strong for the most stressful day ever raining ,stress, some stuff we thiught we'd never get in so we didnt even ask until it was.pretty much to late! If we knew what we know now then that stuff would of gone first! We started packing the truck ourselves since the first 2 guys we asked never showed how maddning and rude!
